Margi instinctively began creating Mandalas in 1985, inspired by the picture of a Hopi Indian sand painting. Several years later she read Jung's reference to his experience with the creation of mandalas andidentified with the process.

“When I first began creating mandalas I had no knowledge of mandala art or of what a mandala was. I was coming through a transition in my life and felt the need to create with my hands in an effort to gain a greater mind, body and spirit connection.
I had been educated in other artistic disciplines but wanted freedom in my visual art.

I didn't want to follow any path, or procedure or technique.
I just wanted to `let go` and `let it happen` and let my intuition guide me I began the process of learning to flow from my spiritual center. I would start at what I intuited was the center point on any piece I worked on and then just let it happen, let it evolve.

My mandala art has served me as my primary form of meditation and contemplation for many years now, the result overall has been a much greater feeling of peace and wholeness within my self and my life. I strongly encourage everybody to explore the mandala as a tool for change and peace in their own lives"
